Sturdy man,
Coarse hands,
No love of money,
Only family,
Labor in their name.
No farmer,
Humble gardener,
Feeds us from the trees,
From nothing,
Fruits of sown seeds.
Sons within his shadow,
A hunter and a soldier,
One intuitive, one of nature,
Protectors for his daughters,
One water, one fire.
He never spoke lessons,
Only showed the way,
To be gentle,
To love deeply,
Yet strong as we need.
A man can bear tears and not weep,
Allow us to see,
His pride and his pain,
Quiet bravery,
Showing us how much it means.
He holds each hug,
One second longer,
For you to know,
This is where he wants to be,
Nowhere else in the world,
This moment shared,
Only you and he,
Heart against heart,
Sheltered in his embrace.
Our All-Father,
Devoted to his lover,
His children's mother,
Two souls soaring together,
Never lost; Albatross.
I feel you in this land,
Your warmth in its soil,
Your voice in the breeze.
Your love: beautiful, tall, wide,
A magnolia tree.
